Natascha Livine Smargiassi Functional Nutrition Swiss Alps

About me

I have always worked at the intersection of science and people.

For thirty years, I trained specialist physicians in cardiology, diabetology, endocrinology, and reproductive medicine in Ticino and throughout Switzerland. I experienced the medical world from the inside. I know its language, its protocols, and its extraordinary potential. And I know its limitations.

I came to understand that there is a space between established disease and optimal well-being that clinical medicine rarely explores. The space of deep prevention, understanding your own body, and making informed choices. This is the space in which I work.

I am not a doctor. I do not make diagnoses. My field is educational guidance in Functional Nutrition, always in conjunction with your primary care physician, never as a replacement.

What matters to me is the educational legacy: giving people the tools to understand how their own bodies work, recognise the signals they send every day, and avoid falling into the traps of those who sell simple solutions to complex problems.

Underlying all of this is the thinking of Edgar Morin: complexity as a method, resilience as a principle. The human body cannot be understood by separating its parts. It can be understood by observing the connections between them.
